We’re so excited to share that we’ve officially made it back to Thousand Oaks! We found a great house that had been recently redone, so it doesn’t need a complete overhaul (phew!). But, let’s be honest, you know us—there’s no such thing as a house without a few projects to keep us busy!
The house was built in the ‘60s, so we’ve been having fun adding our own style, picking out some mid-century modern light fixtures and furniture to give the place a bit more character. The charm of mid-century design really speaks to us, and it’s been great to incorporate that retro vibe while still keeping things modern and functional. We’ve already swapped out a few old fixtures for some sleek new ones, and it’s crazy how much of a difference it makes!
Of course, one of the very first projects Josh tackled was the garage floor—this time, we weren’t going to put it off like we did with the last house. Armed with blue DIY epoxy and matching flakes, he dove right into it. It was a bit more involved than we anticipated (isn’t it always?), with about three days of cleaning, applying multiple layers, and waiting for everything to set. But it was so worth it! The garage floor turned out amazing, giving the space a fresh, polished look that really elevates the whole room.

To complete the transformation, we added some sleek New Age Products cabinets, which we’ve come to love for their durability and clean aesthetic. Now everything has its place, and the garage is organized, functional, and—dare I say—kind of a dream workspace. Whether it’s for storage or an impromptu home gym, it feels great to have such a functional, good-looking space.

So while we didn’t jump into a massive renovation this time around, we’re loving all the small, impactful changes that are helping us make this place feel like home. And knowing us, there are plenty more DIY projects in the pipeline to keep things interesting!
